Summer Portrait FAQS
LBI Family PHOTO sessions are our favorite part of the summer season!
Meeting new families, as well as seeing returning families grow from year to year, is so fun for us. We thank you for trusting us to capture these fleeting moments as each season goes by. We know that planning LBI beach portraits can be difficult with many family members, so we have included our most common FAQSs below for our Long Beach Island family photo sessions to help answer some questions that you or another family member may have about our booking process.

WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCEDURE AND HOW DO I KNOW MY SESSION IS BOOKED?
There is a deposit due to book the date, and your photographer will be in touch with you to discuss the details of your session. If your deposit is not paid within one week the invoice and session slot will be canceled.

WHO WILL BE MY PHOTOGRAPHER?
One of our associate photographers will be assigned to your family's session. All of our photographers have a portfolio available for you to view at any time. Your photographer will be in touch via email or phone to introduce themselves and go over the details of your session.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?
All deposits are non-refundable if you have to cancel or reschedule your session. Please do your best to provide us with at least 48 hours of notice so that your time may be made available to other clients.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Any outdoor portrait entails MANY variables. Please be open to the fact that blue skies and sunshine don't always make the best photos. The most important thing is that everyone is present and comfortable. We like to make the final call on your session as close to the scheduled time as possible in the interest of getting you the best lighting for your portrait. If it does rain, we will move you into the closest time slot available.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
While some may opt for the more traditional white shirt and khakis, over the years we have found that picking two or three colors that go well together winds up looking better in photos (for example navy, denim, white, and peach/pink or a range of blues). Contrast and color work well with beach photos, but try to stay away from reds, orange, neons and crazy prints!

Additional common questions
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY SESSION?
A couple weeks after your session, we will send you an email with a link to your gallery of approximately 50-100 edited, high-resolution digital images depending on which level of coverage you book. From the gallery, we ask that you download the files, and back them up. Upon download, the client accepts all responsibility for archiving and protecting digital photographs. Ann Coen Photography does not permanently archive purchased or unpurchased image files. Ann Coen Photography is not responsible for the lifespan of any digital media provided or for any future changes in digital technology or media readers that might result in an inability to read the files or file types provided. It is the client's responsibility to make sure that digital files are backed up and copied to new media as needed.
WHAT IS YOUR PRIVACY POLICY?:
Upon payment, you agree to allow Ann Coen Photography to use any of your photos for marketing purposes. We understand that privacy is a concern for some clients and we do our best to balance any concerns you may have with our own need to market the business, most of which is done online. We occasionally share images on Instagram and Facebook. If you don't want any images from your session shared, please let us know in advance so that we can flag your session for privacy.
WHAT IS YOUR IMAGE PRESENTATION POLICY?:
While many images are captured during a session, only the best images are selected by the artist and prepared for presentation in the online gallery. Please note that additional images from the session will not be available for preview or purchase, and are removed permanently from the archives after the artist's selection is made.
