If you ever hear us say “we’re up for anything” when discussing your event’s photography timeline, please know that we absolutely mean it.

We’ve trekked through Long Beach Island wedding day flooding, commuter traffic for NYC engagement sessions, multi-location event days, and more. The key is having enough time (and photographers) in your contract to make it all happen, even if something goes off track.

Spring Lake Bath And Tennis Club Wedding

Recently, Alex Rivera shot a beautiful Spring Lake wedding, with Associate Photographer Calla as his second photographer. It was a gorgeous day that included multiple photo locations: bride and groom prep, ceremony, a quick stop at a park in bloom, the venue, and finally, the beach!

Hiring a Second Shooter

With multiple locations, there are some great reasons to book a second photographer. Having two photographers allows coverage at both prep locations, at the same time. If you would like coverage at both bridal prep and groom prep locations, having two photographers helps reduce travel time as well as total time dedicated to pre-ceremony coverage. This way, the time that would be used by one shooter in order to cover both locations can be efficiently applied elsewhere in the timeline.

During the parts of the day when both photographers are shooting at the same location, they are able to capture different angles of the same event. For example, at the ceremony, the first shooter will capture a bride or groom walking down the aisle, while the second shooter may capture the groom’s reaction or other guests’ reactions to seeing the couple for the first time. This style of multi-angle coverage is a huge part of how Ann Coen Studio strives to capture your wedding day and that is why second photographers are already included in most of our wedding packages.

Adding Hours To Your Package

When planning the timeline for this Jersey Shore wedding, Alex and the couple discussed the couple’s event locations and ultimately decided to add some extra time to the schedule for travel. Between all locations on this wedding day, there was about an hour dedicated to travel time, to help make sure that nothing was missed. The team communicated day-of with the shuttle service, the wedding party, and the other vendors, to make sure that everyone was up-to-date on how the timeline was unfolding.

When you are planning a wedding with multiple stops, it is important to consider enough time for both vendor and wedding party travel. If you feel that travel is taking away from your booked event coverage, adding hours to your contract is a great idea to ensure that your coverage extends to the hours needed for all desired parts of your wedding day.

Being A Little Spontaneous

During this wedding, a little bit of unavoidable weather rolled through, but our couple surely made the most of it. Dark clouds and a brief sprinkle gave way to an incredible surprise during their the beach wedding photos. As soon as Alex noticed a rainbow developing, he asked the couple to make a detour to the beach, though it was a little ahead of the scheduled time for beach photos. We are glad they trusted him and decided to go, the result was everything they had hoped it would be. Can’t have rainbows without a little rain.

A Word From The Couple

We always love reading a nice review. Here is what the couple had to say about our team after their wedding day:

“We could not be more pleased with Ann Coen's team and enjoyed working with them every step of the way during wedding planning. From start to finish they are organized, calm, professional and captured every emotion of our day beautifully. I am so grateful that we had Alex and Calla as our wedding photographers and would highly recommend them to anyone!!!! Best team around!!” - Kelly M.

Thank you Kelly and John!
